Caffeinated Cabin sort of bucks the trends when it comes to the happening coffee shop scene in Kuala Lumpur. Mainly due to it’s nomadic location but also due to it is slightly different from the norm menu.

Located in the heart of Bukit Gasing, Caffeinated Cabin itself is blink and you’ll miss it. There is no over the top signage, no bright fancy lights, it is purely located at the side of Chezz hair salon which seems to be the one fighting for the attention of passers by. That in itself is testament to the enjoyable experience you receive when eating/drinking here. It shows that people actually need to make an effort to go here rather than it being ‘just in the area’ and this was seen first hand when we were here as the place was pretty packed out. In a time when the ever popular coffee shop is thriving in places like TTDI and Damanara Uptown, it was a risky move to have a place out here but it seems to be paying off.

The place inside is very airy and has a lot of natural light shining through its ceiling to floor glass windows which gives a relaxing atmosphere. There is also plenty of seating and space outside in their secluded garden area if you want to enjoy the outdoors will sipping on your coffee.

The menu is concise and has a good selection of brunch and lunch dishes along with some tasty bagels.

We went for the Turkey Ham and Raspberry bagel which was great. The bagel itself was seeded with a soft bread inside. The turkey ham was well cooked and the contradiction of the raspberry jam that topped it worked a treat.

We got some potato wedges to go with the bagel and were presented with a mountain of them. That was no bad thing, in fact it was great as they were perfectly cooked. Crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle and more than enough to satisfy any appetite.

On the drinks front we went for a cafe mocha. This rich in chocolaty goodness but still had that strong coffee taste throughout.

The standard cafe latte was to be expected, creamy and delicate.

We also got a fresh fruit juice (orange) which was nice to was down the meal and coffees with.

Although Caffeinated Cabin is located quite out of the way, it is a must visit for a nice relaxing meal and coffee.
